list this is who from each clan is attending. now here are the rules for this gathering. you may not post until the leader of the clan has posted. if you have multiple characters attending, you are only required to post with ONE. though we would love as many characters there as possible. PM a staff member if you signed up but don't have a character attending.

Hours had passed, hours of much needed sleep for Lynxstar. And yet, since waking, he hadn’t moved a muscle. He sat, his shoulders slightly hunched in the darkness. The lichen curtain obscured his view of the clan that milled obliviously beyond the safety of his den. For them, they simply awaited in anticipation a moment they knew would come. It was whispered on breaths – who would attend? Lynxstar swallowed, hanging his head. His shoulders drew up around him, as if his own body could protect him from his ebbing dread. Almost as if to mock him, he could swear Froststar’s scent wrapped around him. He glanced around. The den, the camp, without her, it seemed abandoned now. And each Gathering, Lyxnstar was forcing to admit it, to realize the truth of the matter. Froststar was gone. His eyes fluttered closed, flashing images and fragments of sounds battered at his memory. There was Froststar, sitting with a hard stare – illuminated in shafts of moonlight. She was glorious, strong, more beautiful than Lynxstar’s memory gave her credit for. He remembered that last meeting, the silence between them. It had gone on for unending moments. It had seemed almost irreverent to break the silence, as if he would shatter something precious and fragile. So he stood, his tail brushing his legs. And then, in an instant, it had been broken. It died on Froststar’s quiet lips. The silence ebbed away gently, as if it had truly never been meant to be there. Lynxstar remembered the way Froststar turned, the crack in her voice. It broke, a creaking weak sound. On any other, it would have sounded pathetic, frail. But on Froststar, it made Lynxstar yearn to blink away a mist that had suddenly come over his eyes. But that moment, that breaking of something precious, had been moons ago. Yet on these nights, as he prepared to lead his clan to the Gathering, it seemed almost imminent.
Lynxstar opened his eyes, a sort of resignation hanging in the back of his gaze. He would see Froststar, as he had seen her every moon since that day. And his heart would break, it would shatter. He would be left to silently pick up the pieces. And she would stand there, at his side but miles away. She was so regal, so precious. And yet he couldn’t touch her, couldn’t allow his fur to brush hers. He couldn’t wrap himself in her scent, so that nothing else existed. She was untouchable. And the worst thing was, she was stronger. She wouldn’t look to him, wouldn’t betray her longing. Or perhaps, unlike him, her longing had faded. Perhaps that quiet love between them had melted away. She had always been the stronger one, hardened, determined. Maybe it was only him who clung to dreams of her beauty, of a life they could have had together. And perhaps it was time for him to move on, to steel himself, to admit it was all over – well and truly over.
Lynxstar stood, pushing through the curtain that shielded his den from view. The entire clan was in the camp, many waiting in anticipation for the call they knew would come. Lynxstar felt a slight smile tug at his lips. Their anticipation, their excitement, well it made him happy – even if this brief happiness couldn’t compare to his sorrow. He bunched his muscles, leaping and scaling the high rock. The wind was strong tonight. It battered his fur, blowing it in all directions. There was something undeniably wild about him. He kept his head high, calling out in a strong voice – “Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gathering below the high rock for a clan meeting!” He would not mince words, not tonight. They all knew what he had to say, what was coming. And he would not keep them waiting. His ears flicked back and a light filtered slowly back into his eyes. The clan was already beginning to gather below him. He called out again, “The gathering is upon us.” He looked out at the gathered clan, “Fogstrike, Jaywing, Cedarpaw, Gingerpaw and Firestorm will be attending.” It was perhaps unusual to bring so many apprentices, and so few warriors. But the decision was his, and he would not fall back on it. He nodded his head once, bunching his muscles again.
Without another word, he descended from above. It was long past time when they should have left camp. He moved towards the entrance, not waiting to be followed. His clan would come, they always did. He led them, regally. Adrenaline coursed through his veins and he quickened his pace. They were Windclan. They were meant to stream across the moors, to move with a speed incapable of others. They neared the borders. The massive oaks that symbolized Four Trees stood high in the darkness. He paused, a moment at the top of the ravine. Below him, the small clearing was empty. The other clans had not yet arrived, but soon they would be assaulted by their scents. Lynxstar took in a breath, a confident smile on his features. And with a bound, he led his clan streaming down into Fourtrees. Even without the other clans, the Gathering had begun.

[style=text-align:justify; margin-top:350px; width: 430px; height: 180px; overflow:auto; margin-left:8px;][style=margin-top:-10px; padding-left:1px;] My eyes cracked apart sleepily as I woke from my nap. I supposed I shouldn't be napping, but I was tired, and Wildfang had things under control for an hour or so. I rose to my paws, feeling groggy still, and stretched them out in front myself, purring in pleasure as my sore muscles loosened. I had been busy today, joining several different patrols. Most of the time I paced myself, but today I had been thinking of a certain she-cat a little too much for my liking, so I kept very busy. The conversation I'd had with Sedgewhisker was still buzzing around in my head. Maybe I would never have anything like that again, and I should settle. Maybe I didn't need to love my mate, but just be happy with her. I sighed rather loudly and padded out of my den into the cool evening air. It was time to leave, if we didn't want to be the last to arrive. I jumped up on Highrock and cleared my throat, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!" My deep, commanding tone carried through the camp and when a decent number of cats had gathered I spoke again. "Fogheart, Flameheart, Coalpaw, Leopardfang, Silverclaw, and Spottedflower will be attending this gathering." I stared at Coalpaw for a moment. I had decided to keep a bit of an eye on him for Sedgewhisker since he didn't want to attend this moon. I jumped from the rock and pushed through the gorse-tunnel, trusting my Clanmates to be following me.
We trotted through the forest at an easy speed. The sun was still high enough in the sky that I doubted many other Clans had left yet. We reached fourtrees making good time, and I noticed with an annoyed air that WindClan was already there. Second, once again. I bounded gracefully down into the meeting place, my ears flicking as the rest of my Clan followed suit. Without stopping or speaking to any cat, I trotted toward the Great Rock. I leaped up on to it and sat with my tail curled easily around my paws. RiverClan and ThunderClan still hadn't arrived, so no news would be shared yet. I gave Lynxstar a curt but polite nod, and then turned my gaze to the cats in the clearing.

She reveled in her ability to simply breathe, to take a moment for herself and pause. Now that Pinestep had settled into his role as deputy, the Clan ran smoothly without anywhere near the effort she'd once had to put into its daily maintenance. Froststar was steadily regaining the stalwart center and calm resolution that had made her stand out in Badgerstar's eyes. For the leader, that meant as much laying around doing what looked suspiciously like nothing when the opportunity presented itself.
Of course, Froststar knew that she could not have that much. Not while her kits were young enough to be unrepentantly mischievous. Yarrowkit's high giggle threaded its way out of the nursery, the plodding pawsteps that accompanied it drawing nearer. The young she-kit was much like her mother, large for her age with long, thick white fur. Her eyes were certainly her father's, and on some days Froststar could swear she was looking Lynxstar in the eye when gazing at her daughter. By some small mercy of StarClan, Yarrowkit's eyes were a close enough shade to her own kin's and Ospreyfoot's that no cat would think to question her parentage.
Small mercies were just such things, for as much as her kits were a great blessing, they were the curse she bore for her transgressions against the warrior code. A weight dropped abruptly onto Froststar's middle and she wheezed, raising her head. Yarrowkit blinked innocently at her, a guileless smile on her muzzle. Chuckling, the scarred leader rolled until she lay upright, Yarrowkit shimmying off of her belly to curl up at her side. "Ashcloud says you gotta leave soon," she mewed thoughtfully. "She said tonight's a new Gathering."
Casting her gaze up to the sky, Froststar blinked, bemused. The full moon was rising, limning the camp in silver and shadow. "Then it's past time for you to sleep, dearheart." She nudged Yarrowkit to her paws and herded the complaining kit back into the nursery. Froststar nuzzled her daughter and son, nodding to Ashcloud before she slipped out again. Her paws automatically carried her to the Highroot and pulled her up its gnarled and twisting slope to the rough platform formed by the twisting roots.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Highroot for a Clan meeting!" As always, her command rolled through the camp, the volume allowing it to reach into the corners of the elders' den and dig the likes of Brindlestorm out of their nests. Warriors and apprentices gathered beneath her, elders and queens sitting on the outer edges of the crowd. Brindlestorm had barely bothered to leave the elders' den and sat with her sons outside its entrance, yellow eyes boring into Froststar with the tortoiseshell's usual ire.
Bluefrost and her kin were settled into a tight group, and Froststar mentally shook her head. As effective as that trio was, the three could stand to learn to operate and socialize on their own. She reminded herself of the first step she'd planned for just such a thing tonight, and regarded her Clan proudly, blue eyes alight with the emotion. "Tonight, Pinestep, Cedarstorm, Bluefrost, Lilacfoot, and Rookpaw will attend the Gathering." Her gaze landed on each cat individually, warming slightly at the sight of Rookpaw's black fur. "Ospreyfoot will be in charge while we are gone. I expect reports from all assigned patrols and sentries when I return." Nodding firmly, she swept her tail to punctuate the "Dismissed," she called before descending the Highroot.
Froststar padded past the cats she'd named and swept out of camp. She could hear Bluefrost's light steps behind her, and Pinestep's tread nearest to her own. With the angle of the moon, ShadowClan would hold the same position they had last full moon-- third to arrive. Still, Froststar led her cats into the clearing with her head held high and the austere mantle of her "Gathering persona" wrapped about her shoulders.
Her paws carried her to the boulder with swift precision, and she leapt onto it with a nod for both toms. "Lynxstar, Nightstar," she greeted. Froststar wrapped her tail neatly around her paws and drew herself up to her full height, shoulders relaxing to accentuate their breadth. She scanned the edges of the clearing on RiverClan's usual entrance side, watching for Shadestar's black fur and yellow eyes.

[style=text-align:justify; margin-top:300px; width: 350px; height: 200px; overflow:auto; margin-left:8px;][style=margin-top:-10px; padding-left:1px;] He had been nervous all day long. Not that he had let it show, of course, but from the moment Robinstar had woken up and remembered the day, he had felt an unsettling bit of nervousness fill his chest. He had spent the morning in Shadestar’s-.. no, his nest, comforting himself with the lingering presence of his predecessor. It was still a strange feeling, to consider himself the leader of RiverClan, to rest where Shadestar had rested, to have the clan rely on him for leadership and instruction. Thankfully he had always been more of a leader, whether it had been while plaing with his siblings or participating on a patrol, so the new position didn’t completely catch him off guard. Still, it was different. He relied on Ferndapple for guidance, for though the she-cat was younger than himself, she still had more experience than he could ever have at leading a clan. He didn’t hide behind his deputy, not at all, but he valued everything she said and never feared to express his concerns to her.
Unfortunately, today’s concerns were not something that he could ask for guidance on. He was technically ready for the Gathering, the cats who would accompany him and Ferndapple already planned out. It wasn’t that. While he had the basics prepared, he was not at all ready for the actual Gathering itself. He had been to Gatherings before, of course, but never as leader. What would the other clans think, to suddenly have him rise to power after Shadestar’s untimely death? Would they believe the spot was rightfully his? He had appeared out of nowhere, after all, the clan only relying on Ferndapple’s promise of a dream from StarClan that had declared him the next leader over RiverClan. Hopefully trouble would not stir at this Gathering, and all would be well.
Robinstar glanced at the sky continuously during the day, and when at last the sun began to set, spreading brilliant colors across the horizon, Robinstar decided that it was time. He took another moment to calm his now racing heart before heading towards the center of the camp and the rock that proudly stood at its heart. He stepped forth, body shifting as he let the presence of the leaders that had stood here before him calm his worries and give him confidence. He took a deep breath, paws flexing on the worn stone beneath them before he raised his voice to call out to his clanmates. “Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here below the Reed Stone for a Clan meeting!” He felt a surge of power flow through him at the words, the words that had been called countless times from countless lips, and he smiled. He watched as his clanmates gathered around him, excitement filling the air. They knew what this was for. Robinstar waited patiently for his clan to reform before him, and the red furred leader cast a quick glance at the sky. It seemed the moon already was showing its pale face, and Robinstar felt a slight frown mar his face as he realized he would not be early to his first Gathering as leader. Ah, well. No rush.
He cast a green gaze over the assembled cats, scanning for any absent members, and when none could be found, he began. “Friends, you all know what night we greet.” he meowed, voice softer now that he didn’t have to call out to the farthest reaches of the camp, “Ferndapple, Greystream, Thornpaw, Cloverleaf, and Basilpaw shall join me tonight to attend the Gathering.” He had debated about bringing two apprentices and only the warrior Cloverleaf, but he wanted Basilpaw to have a chance to leave the camp, to spend time with different cats. He was concerned for the apprentice; Shadestar’s death had struck him particularly hard. Hopefully this would help him to relax a bit and have at least a bit of fun.
He leapt from the rock, waiting as this chosen clanmates gathered near him while the rest of RiverClan slowly began to drift away to resume their duties. He gave the accompanying cats a smile before setting off, his ears pricked to make sure he could hear the following sounds of the other cats as they began to move through RiverClan territory and towards the Fourtrees. The moon was higher now, and as he lead his clan to the top of the ravine, the strong scents of the other clans confirmed his suspicions that he would arrive last. He took a deep breath to calm his nerves and rolled his shoulders before bounding down into the Fourtrees with his clan behind them.
He stole a quick glance to make sure the other five cats had made it okay, eyes lingering with concern on Basilpaw before he shook his head and focused his attention on the boulder where the other leaders sat waiting. His eyes narrowed slightly, watching their faces. Were they surprised to not see Shadestar? He paused at the bottom of the stone before leaping up onto it to with a shiver, excitement coursing through his body as he took his place among the other clan leaders. “Hello, friends.” He greeted with a light smile, eyes flicking between their faces as he held back a thrilled purr. All nervousness was gone from before, replaced with only eagerness and excitement. He was the leader of RiverClan, representing his clan as he sat beside the cats that he had only been able to look up to in previous moons. Now he sat among them as more or less their equal. “So then, shall we begin?” he murmured, settling comfortably on the stone, “I’m sure we all have exciting news to share.” He was sure the gathered cats and other leaders were eager and apprehensive about what he himself had to say, but he would wait his turn to speak as they would wait to listen.

In the small amount of time between this upcoming gathering, and the previous, Pinestep had changed a great deal, losing that darkness that threatened to consume him while retaining his familiar ambitions.
After participating in a border patrol, the large tom padded back into camp, his eyes sweeping over the cats that dotted the clearing, clearly eager to see who would be chosen to attend this gathering. Padding towards the fresh-kill pile, he flicked an ear as he heard the soft mews of a kit. Turning his head, he spotted little Yarrowkit, along with her mother, Froststar. Pinestep studied the little she-kit, she was a unscarred image that reflected that of her mother's.
Pinestep thought nothing of the mother sharing a moment with her own kit. He hadn't seen much of Ospreyfoot, Froststar's mate lately, but perhaps the idea of being a father still hadn't settled with the tom yet. Shaking it off, the tabby tom grabbed a healthy crow and settled by a bush, liking to eat by his lonesome.
After finishing his meal, the sun had been swallowed the horizon, allowing the moon to take its rightful place in the sky. Swiping his tongue over his muzzle, the deputy raised up into a sitting position, draping his tail over his paws. Green eyes observed Froststar as she called the clan for a meeting. The tip of his tail flicked as he heard his brother's name called, yet he held his tongue. As always, Froststar chose warriors and apprentices that were fit for the Gathering, even the newest apprentice, Rookpaw, was to attend to the Gathering this moon.
Getting to his paws the tom kept pace just behind the Shadowclan leader, glancing back every now and then to make sure that no cat was lagging behind. Not surprisingly, Shadowclan was not the first to arrive, it looked as if Windclan and Thunderclan had beat them to Fourtrees yet again, but what was the rush? As he stepped into the sacred grounds, the tom watched as Froststar move to her position atop the boulder.
There was something strange..something that Pinestep could not put his paw on. He felt as if his fur was on end, as if something was there, yet he could not see it. Narrowing his eyes, the tom scanned the Gathering, but found nothing physically out of the ordinary. As he moved to his position beneath the boulder, he scented Riverclan, and to his surprise, instead of the dark figure of Shadestar, a red tom made his way to the leader position.
Where is Shadestar? The tom thought as he looked at the tom as he greeted the other leaders. And even if she has passed, wouldn't Ferdapple take her place? The tom held his tongue once again, not really caring about the affairs of another clan. He was worried about Shadowclan, and Shadowclan alone.

[style=text-align:justify; margin-top:250px; width: 540px; height: 140px; overflow:auto; margin-left:8px;][style=margin-top:-10px; padding-left:1px;] Sun blared through the tree tops. The lush canopy blocking some spots of sun on the bright forest floor, somewhere in the distance of it all, Riverclan camp was flooding with life. Cats streamed in and out of camp as they went to explore, or mothers took kits out for the first time. Patrols scanned the borders, and fish would be scooped out of the river. Kits would be squealing and their mothers laughing lightly from the sidelines. Mentors trained their apprentices and watched proudly as they grew. The deputy of that clan and the leader, would guide their clans, and making talk of who would be going to the Gathering tonight. Who would be representing them?
The Gathering was a big thing. It was a sign of gratitude, and loyalty to the original four leaders, who had brought the clans together and lead them through their toughest times. They built the clans and made them strong. Thunderstar, Riverstar, Windstar, and Shadowstar would be the ultimate saviors of the clans, one who harmonized the cats of the forest, and stopped them from killing each other. The four had devised plans on how to run the clan, and how to maintain them, coming out with codes, and special things to be done, ranks for the cats and a system to go by. The heart was devoted and every cat wanted in to stop the fighting. What they did was glorious, and it lead to their strong clans, 6 generations later and they still knew of the original leaders, some cats old enough to remember how they talked, or how they did a certain thing.
But the time now was to organize the party for tonight’s meeting. The Gathering happens every full moon, and went on until all the news was shared. IT was a time for peace and harmony among the clans, were arguments would be set aside and warriors would mingle with other warriors, and apprentice would boast and show off their new skills, elders laid in the corner and chatted merrily about old times, and the deputies and medicine cats would sit at the base of the rock, below their respective leader. They’d sit patiently and listen to their leaders reports, hushing down any who talked while the leaders talked. But tonight, Ferndapple didn’t have any of this. Ferndapple was a lithe, fawn tabby she-cat with pale green eyes. She belonged to Riverclan, and was the deputy of the clan. She aided their leader Robinstar, and gave the orders for patrols, and discussed manners with Robinstar.
Robinstar was new at the leader position, but Ferndapple was not new at deputy. She should be Fernstar right now, but she was scared, she didn’t want to take up leader, she felt it wasn’t her place in the clan to take what Shadestar had. Shadestar... The name struck home in all of them. Their beloved leader had died the previous week, and the clan was still on edge. Ferndapple didn’t know she was going to die, but things happen for a reason.
Reaching into the camp where Ferndapple stayed, she was currently calling the meeting for Robinstar, to announce who would go to the Gathering. Ferndapple aided Robinstar in his decision, and helped select who would go. They had decided on two apprentices, and one warrior. Most clans thought this odd, but it was how they ran things. Greystream would obviously be going, but her apprentice Quailpaw would be staying behind to take care of the sick and injured. Ferndapples slim body dashed after Robinstar as he left the camp, and announced who would be going, and once they entered the clearing, she looked up to see Robinstar settling in calmly to the position. She sighed a breath of relief, and went to join the other gathered deputies. Pinestep. Where might the other deputies, Wildfang and Fogstrike be?
[/color] She wondered. Their leaders were here. Actually, Riverclan were the last to arrive. She thought nothing more of it, and turned to the crowed, and watched as her group mingled in with the other apprentices and warriors. Her fluffy tail curled around her paws as she looked back to Pinestep. So how are things in your camp? She questioned, she wasn’t prying. Just asking a normal question, that would be questioned amoung the deputies. [/div][/style][/style][/center]

Lynxstar moved one of his massive paws, brushing against the rock. Tens, hundreds of leaders had stood in this space – coming before him. They had stood before their clans, before every clan, a symbol of strength and endurance. And now, with a full moon high and plump in the sky, it was Lynxstar’s job to do the same. He was a symbol of stability, that despite disaster and disease, life would indeed go on as they had always known it to. Yet as he looked down, at Windclan milling about Fourtrees impatiently, he couldn’t help but wonder what it was he really did, what the significance of it all was. But he didn’t have long to wonder. A sharp wind carried Thunderclan’s scent. A slight smile tugged at Lynxstar’s lips as Nightstar led his clan streaming into Fourtrees. The other tom joined him above the mingling clans with barely a greeting, a flash of disappointment. Lynxstar knew of Nightstar’s pride, and in beating him, of taking his place as first to arrive, he had won a small petty victory. Under usual circumstances, Lynxstar wasn’t the type to act so immaturely. But he couldn’t help himself when it came to Nightstar, somehow it was endlessly amusing – and deserved.
Lynxstar inclined his head politely to the other tom, though didn’t speak. In truth, he was distracted. He had to force his gaze blindly into the trees – to keep himself searching every inch of the ravine. But he couldn’t control his senses. He breathed in deeply, his jaws subtly parted. He wanted to catch that first light breeze, the first hint that she was near. He wanted her to see him, strong, proud, and waiting for her. It was shameful. And he sent a quick prayer of apology to his warrior ancestors. Yet he couldn’t bring himself to regret the longing, the burning need to press his face into her scarred fur, to feel her wrap around him. His eyes fluttered closed. He breathed, steadying himself. Below he could hear his warriors mingling. Apprentices chattered with boundless excitement. He cracked a smile, watching their wonder and awe. Off to one side, a timid young white and ginger patched tom apprentice he recognized as Basilpaw sat, his ribs showing through his fur. Lynxstar shook his head, returning his eyes to the crowd. He took a deep breath, steadying himself.
And there it was, her scent. His ears perked and he couldn’t help but stiffen. His eyes moved slowly to the ravine, evenly. And there she was. She stood, in all her majesty. Her clan flowed around her, mixed with his own. A moment later she had joined them. Her scent flooded him, wrapped around him. His throat closed. Yet he managed a stiff nod in her direction. She was so far away, too far away. He needed her presence, the touch of her nose to his. He forced himself to stare ahead, even as his heart hammered. She was regal, more powerful than he remembered. He could think of nothing but her, see nothing but flashes of pure ice fur from the corner of her eyes. Somewhere, like a distant voice, Riverclan arrived – the last clan to stream into the Gathering. He didn’t have long to focus on Froststar. His gaze snapped to a young male who led Riverclan with a sense of pride. His eyes widened with a sense of foreboding. He recognized the tom as Robinthroat, a warrior of Riverclan. He inclined his head tensely, searching the gathered cats for the young Riverclan leader. “Robinthroat. Where is Shadestar?”

Fogheart had finally found a moment to groom himself in the chaos. He sat quietly in the medicine den, surrounded on all sides by fragrant herbs, stroking out the tangles in his sleek gray pelt. Some cat had once suggested to him that there was no point in maintaining his fur so meticulously. He was a medicine cat, neither mates nor kits could ever be in his future, so who did he have to look good for? Fogheart had answered promptly that he looked good for himself, and left it at that. No cat needed to know how dearly he wished he could fall in love.
With only half of his back done, of course it would be Fogheart's luck that a meeting was called. With a soft sigh, the medicine cat untwisted his spine and came to his feet. He gave a long stretch and a yawn before padding out into the main camp to watch the Gathering organized. It was no surprise to him that he would be attending. As the Clan's medicine cat that was one of his primary duties. That did not mean he had to be particularly happy about it.
Still half groomed, Fogheart rose and followed Nightstar on quick, quiet feet down the tunnel and out into the larger ThunderClan territory. He carried with him the pungent scents of herbs - catmint and poppy, borage and wild garlic and yarrow - characteristic of his trade. It was this scent, in the end, that had first attracted Fogheart to the life of the medicine cat. He found it heady and addicting, and no longer really knew how to sleep without being surrounded by herbs. Unfortunately that was not an opinion shared by most.
Cresting the top of the ravine, Fogheart paused. He pricked his ears and scanned the clearing below for any sign of his fellow medicine cats. He did not see them often, but generally he considered them among his friends, and looked forwards to the times they did get to spend together. Eager to search them out, Fogheart flowed with his Clan down into the base of the ravine.

Perhaps it was the reason that she had taken a break to stroll aimlessly through the waving blades of grass in the moor, or perhaps not. More likely it was the stress that had balled itself up into her stomach. It had grown slowly but surely, and now the medicine cat felt as though one day soon it might make her collapse of its weight. Jaywing found herself slowing her pace, placing her dark paws on the ground in careful, meticulous movements. Her blue gaze kept on the earth, watching the path she took. The gray she-cat wasn't too surprised when eventually, her paws led her back to the WindClan camp without her even knowing. How sly.
Jaywing slid gracefully into her medicine den, running her eyes over her stock piles one last time. Thanks to the ever-warming weather of newleaf, she didn't have a problem finding and harvesting more herbs. For that, she was grateful. She sighed quietly as Lynxstar's baritone voice ran through the camp, echoing into her den. It was time. The petite medicine cat turned slowly and let her leaden limbs carry her to the rest of the Clan. She made herself take slow breaths in preparation. Her dark ears perked involuntarily when her father figure included her in the list. Jaywing wasn't surprised, really, she went to every Gathering. It was just that as of late, all they caused her was a tense feeling. She dipped her head anyways in response to him.
Along the way, she rounded the back of the line of cats. Her light gaze seemed almost gray in the harsh moonlight, like many of her clanmates' did. She watched their backs, watched their tails twitch and shoulders rise an fall with each resltess breath. At the head was the leering form of her leader. There was a strange feeling in the air that she couldn't quite place so instead she shrugged it off. It was time to clear her mind for the Gathering. This was no time to let her jumbled thoughts screw with her head.
WindClan made their way into the fourtrees. Her blue eyes searched for the other medicine cats, and she felt herself relax when she found one. Fogheart. From the outside, he never seemed very approachable. However, she held great respect for him as a medicine cat and was actually not as much of a grump as one would think. Jaywing's slim form weaved its way through the crowd of cats to come to a stop by the ThunderClan medicine cat. She gave him a small smile in greeting. "Hello, Fogheart. It is good to see you again," she purred. Her rump found the ground and she craned her neck to check out her surroundings. Her gaze flitted up toward the leaders and she felt a cold wave of shock when, instead of the familiar dark form of Shadestar, there is a russet tom she doesn't really recognize. Her ears pricked when she heard Lynxstar ask the question that had been pegging her. Jaywing felt something was off about this whole Gathering, but perhaps it was just her mind playing tricks. She was known to be a little paranoid.

[style=text-align:justify; margin-top:350px; width: 430px; height: 180px; overflow:auto; margin-left:8px;][style=margin-top:-10px; padding-left:1px;] My fur stood on end when RiverClan showed up, not with Shadestar in the lead, but with a red cat whom I didn't know. I didn't make it a practice to get to know all of the warriors of the other Clans, but I did know that Ferndapple was the deputy of RiverClan.. So why wasn't she the leader now if something had happened to Shadestar? My yellow eyes scanned the throng of cats, trying to pick out cats whom I knew to be RiverClan. They seemed healthy enough, but I still felt like something terribly wrong had happened. I had never put a lot of stock into the warrior code, the unspoken traditions of it. I didn't care if female leaders had kits, that's what a deputy was for wasn't it? But we did things by the warrior code for a reason, it created order. Something as big as blatantly ignoring it in the face of a naming new leader was going a bit too far for my tastes. But I bit my tongue. I didn't want to get ThunderClan involved, I didn't care about what was happening in RiverClan unless it affected us directly. I didn't want to offer my help or anything of the sort.
“Robinthroat. Where is Shadestar?”
My gaze left RiverClan's new leader to consider Lynxstar. He had not called the tom, who I now knew as Robinthroat, by Robinstar. But what did that mean? Was Lynxchaser blatantly saying he didn't agree with the decision? Was he wanting to get WindClan involved? My tail tip twitched in irritation, and I caught the eyes of several of my clan-members to reassure them. We would not be affected by the dealings of other Clans, not unless we were forced into it. I turned my gaze to Froststar momentarily, but could not read her emotions. How did she feel about all of this? I could remember her announcing her kits at a gathering not too long ago, so would she agree? Or was she like me? Did she think having kits was okay, but this would be going to far? Lynxstar's tone was tense, I could tell he didn't agree with the turn of events. Foreboding was spreading over my body now. I quickly looked through the throng of cats for Wildfang, and when I caught his eye I gave him a meaningful look. If things went bad, we were leaving. ThunderClan would not spill blood at a gathering.

mini-announcement! This is the beginning of the site's major plot! This plot has been pre-planned and carefully initiated by the staff team. It shall remain a secret until everything comes into play. However, this should be the beginning, that being said -
We ENCOURAGE you to post with leaders AND non-leaders in the Gathering creating chaos. This means warriors/apprentices shouting out or verbally fighting each other. This means protests, anger, pretty much everything dissolving into chaos. But please NO ACTUAL PHYSICAL VIOLENCE. But feel free to have your characters freak out, become verbally aggressive, insult other clans and whatever you wish. Big things are going down in the clans.
That is all <3 feel free to begin the chaos!

Her tail twitched as she looked over at her apprentice letting a smile. She didn’t know if it was her, or her apprentice that would go. But she felt she needed everything ready as she moved towards the entrance to her den. She turned and sighed she hated this job. She would be blamed for everything, her tail twitched awkwardly as she moved to the call. Her face still shown signs of her nightmare, haunting and ever becoming more real. She looked up sighing deeply, as she got to her paws and followed Robinstar.
Her face looked down at her paws, while her mind wondered. She wanted to say no, she wanted to speak out against Robinstars choice. But Robinstar being so knew the clan might take it in away she did not want it. Her ears pinned to her head, as they looked down on the four trees. Everything telling her to run back to camp and sleep or care for the already hurt. She went on Robinstars signal to four trees, but hid more then normal. She kept her face down even when the gathering started, a single tear hit the ground.
words:207 note: She gave me something! Even if it wasn't great! :P tag! Everyone!

[style=text-align:justify; margin-top:255px; width:430px; height: 290px; overflow:auto; float:left; margin-left:20px;][style=margin-top:-15px; padding-left:25px; padding-right:5px] The night reached translucent fingers across the dimming sky, choking out the dying throes of the day. Oranges and reds were thrown across the bellies of the clouds, igniting the sky with their feeble fire. The ink stain of darkness spread slowly, darkening the saturated blue like water on cloth. Creeping across its fibres, the sinister dye moved steadily, almost imperceptibly, towards total domination of the skies. To many, this seeping darkness signaled an end to activity. An end to obligation. The blot meant only sleep and comfort, an escape from whatever trivial trials had laced the day. Stillness fell across the land, but there was a handful who did not fade with the day. A group of ThunderClanners traversed their territory towards Fourtress, one large grey-and-white tom not far from the head of the group. Ever vigilant, resting little and seldom, nothing escaped his notice that could not be quickly caught. Half an hour had passed since he had woken from his brief respite, waiting for the time of the gathering, and it had come. As it always had for countless moons, and always would. The silver disk hung in the sky like a beacon for peace, though Shrikefang was often tense during these times. Meeting with the other Clans was uncomfortable, and seldom did he make idle conversation with the likes of his enemies. Like a ghost he glided through the trees, over tangled undergrowth, down gullies and up ridges. Nostrils flared widely, hauling in enough air to power his strides. He was able to spare some modicum of concentration to check the air for unusual scents. His upper lip peeled back every so often to get a better reading of the scents around him. He would need to know if anyone had passed the border, in case a Clan planned a sneak attack to steal prey or overtake camp. The last thing he needed was to be set upon from multiple directions. The forest could only protect him so much.
It was an advantage he did not readily want to give up. The twisted landscape was a hindrance to all, but less so to his ThunderClan-practiced eyes and body. The senior warrior tried to recall the last time he had set foot out of the ThunderClan forest and beyond fourtrees. Ah yes, he had taken his apprentice to Highstones, a trip all apprentices must take and pass through WindClan to get there. What an odd feeling it had been, grass beneath his paws and reaching out almost as far as the eye could see. Flowers that weren't tangled, rough-worn wildflowers but gentle and straight, bending slightly in the breeze. He'd felt exposed, naked. What few clearings there were in ThunderClan were small and not as lushly carpeted as the lands to the South. The towering trunks holding the canopy overhead managed to block enough of the sun to make the edges of said clearings sparse and withered. This was not a forest meant to sustain a WindClanner by any means, vast as it was. Shrikefang preferred it that way.
He gritted his teeth and kicked into a higher gear as they neared Fourtrees, trained muscles responding without protest as he lengthened stride and bounded over a scattering of gopher holes. He wasn't perfect, but he was just skilled enough to have managed to avoid breaking his legs all these moons. He surged through the shadowed columns, the light of the moon showing puzzle-pieces of the ground ahead. To his right, out beyond the trees, the near-full moon washed the landscape in a clinical blue-white glow. Before he knew it, the grassy, wind-swept scent of WindClan reached him, and moments after that ThunderClan streamed steadily into the familiar clearing. He'd lost his wonder for this place moons ago, it's vast size and gathering of cats no longer exciting to him. More than anything it put him on edge, uncomfortable being surrounded by his enemies. His barrel inflated and contracted with ease as he drank in the scents and spotted his usual place just in front of the Great Rock, perhaps a few tail-lengths away from where the deputies took their place. Slow, deliberate steps carried him out past the forest's edge. He felt naked as the trees peeled back, exposing him to the cold moonlight. He halted a few metres from the treeline, staring out across the distance at the gathering of cats, occasionally glancing at where he intended to sit. As the other Clans arrived, he watched in a cold silence. He didn't enjoy gatherings, yet he understood the necessity. Despite his understanding of this, his first instinct in the presence of his enemies was to leap into battle. StarClan keep me sane. he prayed dryly, the nervous energy of violence igniting in his veins.
Finally, he allowed himself to enter the clearing fully, settling in his place not far from the Great Rock as the leaders gathered above him. He wondered, briefly, what it was like to be the top dog, to be the one calling the shots and caring for your Clan like it was your child. He wondered how much good he could do for ThunderClan in such a position, but he chased the thoughts and desires of leadership away. Shrikefang was not fit for leadership. He was a pathetic man, a lowly attack dog that couldn't even save the cats most dear to him in his life. No matter how much he loved his Clan, never would he be good enough to hold their lives in his paws as a leader would. StarClan would never accept him. Mentally berating himself for his fleeting moment of ambition, he curled his tail around his paws and watched the crowd carefully, on high alert. Mangy ShadowClanners. Fishy RiverClanners. Fleeing WindClanners. They had nothing on ThunderClan.

[style=text-align:justify; margin-top:35px; width: 230px; height:350px; overflow:auto; float:right; margin-right:5px;][style=margin-top:-15px; padding-left:25px; padding-right:5px]So, Thornpaw was going to the Gathering without his mentor. That was something he found rather unusual, but he said nothing of it. If he spoke, then it would become clear about his... predicament with his mentor. Something had sparked between them though Thornpaw would never admit it to anyone. It wasn't something that a young tom would want for any other cat to know, especially if that young tom was the prickly, cold Thornpaw.
While everyone else was filing out of the RiverClan camp, Thornpaw quietly made his way over to Minnowleap. She didn't know about the confusion that raged in his heart and he wasn't about to tell her. Maybe what he was feeling was nothing more than a phase and would fade with the passage of time. Strangely, he doubted such a happening.
"Be safe, Minnowleap. I'll be back soon with the rest of the Clan." He murmured quietly and reluctantly pulled himself away from her. The apprentice had to bury the desire to touch his nose to hers; he put distance between them in order to solidify his resistance. Dipping his head to her, Thornpaw quickly darted away and disappeared out of sight.
It didn't take him long to catch up with the rest of RiverClan; if he were lucky, they wouldn't have noticed that he had faded away at all. Without a word, he slipped within their ranks and padded along towards Fourtrees. He bounded down the hill towards the sacred meeting place with his Clan until Robinstar went to join the other leaders. Quickly, Thornpaw separated himself from his Clan and all the other cats. There was no way that he would waste his time mingling with anyone. He hated close proximity; the Gatherings would only be a nuisance to him. Maybe next time he would ensure that he would not be invited to such an event. His lip curled in distaste as his green eyes alighted on the other cats. At least they would leave him alone, with his dark heart surrounding him and his massive size warning them all away.
