Brindlestream

It was a beautiful day, with a soft wind and just enough clouds to keep the subdue the heat. The perfect day to hunt, or maybe take up some extra battle training. She might have even offered to take some of the apprentices out for the day, that would have been fun. Spending time with her daughter and maybe even her father. Just enjoy the day. Yet, the tortoiseshell she-cat was making her way to the medicine cats den, and all because of a stupid thorn.
Brindlestream paused just outside of the den. Pretty much figuring the tom was in there, since his scent was so strong, but, for a moment, she wondered if he would be too busy. After all, it was just a little thorn prick, did she really need to bother him with it? Then again, it was still greenleaf, not many cats were getting sick, and, with the clans oddly peaceful-as of the moment- there hadn't been many injuries. And if the prick got infected, she, and several other cats- including the sharp-tongued medicine cat- would scold her to no end.
Poking her head inside, she looked for the familiar pelt of Fogheart. She had come to know him well when she had Gingerpaw. Since she had harassed him to know end about Gingerpaw not meowing. That may have been another reason she wanted to forget about her paw. She wasn't sure how he felt about her now after that. She had been a bit of a pain. Worrying over her kit like she was... well, a queen. Not many seemed to have a problem with it, most seemed to feel sorry for her. Which set her pelt to prickling like she was covered in ants. She didn't need their pity! She had simply wanted to hear her daughters beautiful voice!
"Fogheart?" She mewed softly, not wanting to wake him if he was sleeping. Maybe he was asleep. Maybe she could just leave now and wouldn't have to worry about talking to the tom. Wouldn't have to worry about bothering him.
She started to pull out of the den, ready to leave. Sure that the tom was busy-or, that's what she told herself.

Notes: Would have made it longer, but I thought this was a good start.
