Yep O_O
Okay, so last night, I was just on the computer, typing with my friend, Ashley, and everything was fine. It had rained earlier, but there was no storm going on...
Suddenly.. I hear... "poom!" and I turn the chair, only to see a bright, reddish light centered around what looked like fire coming from the window- what looked like right above where the chicken's play-pen was.. it looked and sounded like this, though I didn't see all the sparks and whatnot in the end. I got up, watching it make that noise and light three times, and then it stopped and the house went pitch black, sending my heart racing.
I panicked, but also somewhat kept my cool, rushing towards where I knew my phone had been charging, ringing up my mom as fast as my shaking hands could take me. Really- I had no idea what had happened because I forgot we had powerlines over there, but I had the huge fear of it catching our house on fire.
Finally I gain my cool, explain the situation, and my mom says they are on their way home. The fear ceases, and I head outside, walking very close to the garage. I see the neighbor's flashlights and I call out to them, and they explain that a powerline fell and despite my better judgement, I walk to the grill, and little do I know, if I had gone any further, I would have come in contact with the live wire. I hadn't even seen it.
I go back inside and let my mom go. Lady pees on the floor, I light ten candles, and clean it up. I go to texting Ashley, telling her what happened and why I disappeared and she, the awesome friend she is (my other friends are awesome too, but Ashley is the only one who is awake at the times I am LOL), gives me moral support and comfort because I still don't exactly know what happened.
My parents get home and I go outside the garage door to wait for them. They pull in slowly, shining their truck lights to find the fallen wire. I walk to the grill again, and they yell, "Stop! It's right there!" And then I see it, and I'm slowly starting to realize how close I was to coming in contact with a live wire because I'm dumb and couldn't see it. I feel like I had a sort-of near-death experience, knowing I could have been seriously hurt and I didn't even know.. freaky. They tell me to go inside, and I do, them calling me after they call the fire department (thankfully the neighbors had called as well).
They call me, telling me they have to walk in the main road because the wire fell all the way across our yard, just to get to the house. So they make this huge loop, and I wait for them to get inside. They do, and they start talking about it, gathering flashlights, and eventually we all fall asleep on the two sofas while we wait at around 5-6am.
I wake up at 7-8am, the fire department is there, and my dad comes home with McDonalds sometime after 8am. I eat, go upstairs, and go to sleep in the hot-ass room while I await for the power to return. I wake up at 2pm, and the power comes on while I am tending to the chickens. And now here I am.
Eventful-ass night. x__x
