As a medicine cat, she was required to heal the sick and injured, but lately there hadn't been any problems. Not that she wanted her clanmates bored, but she was getting rather tired of having nothing to do. So, she decided she was going to go exploring. She'd done so as an apprentice, much to her mentors dismay. And for the sake of it, she figured now that she was grown she could do whatever she wanted, right? (She might be fully grown and have an apprentice of her own now, but sometimes her mindset was still like that of an unruly apprentice.)
And so, she told Thistlepaw to keep watch over her clanmates while she went out, claiming to go to the moonstone for some light on a dream she'd had. Silently she prayed StarClan would forgive her, both for going out and for lying to her apprentice. The sun was beginning to set as she made her journey to loner territory for sheer pleasure of doing something reckless. She knew plenty of fighting moves, and ShadowClan was the clan of night and darkness. As far as she was concerned she held the advantage in case anything came her way. (Provided it was a cat. If it was a fox she'd high tail it wherever she could.)
However, as she walked into a moor of the loner and rogue territory she noted that everything seemed to be quiet as far as activity went. All that surrounded her was the dark and the stars that began to shine through silverpelt. Taking a deep breath Briarleaf smiled. It had been a long time since she had enjoyed something like this. With the sound of crickets and cicadas joining into a chorus, Briarleaf grinned and walked at a leasuirley pace, taking in the sights and smells around her. Maybe I should have invited Thistlepaw along...no. I'm technically breaking the warrior code for even being out of the territory. So instead the she-cat heaved a sigh and laid herself on the grassy hill.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1296.photobucket.com/albums/ag2/recklessisawreck/lavi02_zps6d82ffe9.png][scrolly:h(170),w(450),sy] Today really wasn't Lavi's day. Quite the opposite, though the tom cat didn't quite have any words at the moment to describe the sheer disaster that the day had become (which really, isn't a good sign- he always has words). The fluffy feline staggered towards a direction he couldn't quite see properly, the trees blending together, twisting and blurring in a mass and array of colors. He doubted he was walking straight, he sure didn't feel like it- and good heavens- it was making him feel physically sick.
He was tired. Just really tired. And sore.
Peering through the brush, Lavi kept his head low, ears flatted against his skull in an attempt to keep himself as small and hidden as possible. His fluffy tail remained curled close against his flank, his paws tucked beneath him, residing in a hidden area within Thunderclan territory. He knew he shouldn't be directly in the territory- he was really pushing it in that aspect- but he was awaiting the daily patrol. Last time he had observed them, he'd been too far away to hear them properly- and today he wanted to change that by remaining hidden just underneath their noses.
And truly, it had been a bad idea. Despite his best efforts to gain the smell of Thunderclan so he didn't seem suspicious, they had noticed him on their way back around. There were five cats- three warriors- two males, one female, and two apprentices, one male and one female. Obviously he had chosen the wrong group to observe because they were touchy- defensive and irritable. They were clearly angered by his blatant disregard for the territory boundaries- accusing him of spying (technically he was, but not for any poor reason) and stealing prey.
Any and all arguments were unheard by the angry warriors, and they attacked. It wasn't as much of a "let's scare this intruder off" as a "let's teach him a lesson for intruding."
Lavi was a strong cat- not the most strong by far, nor the quickest. But he did have abilities that were nearly rendered useless with two warriors (the other warrior stood back with the two apprentices) ganging up on him. He fought the best he could- not being allowed to run off like most would allow. They cornered him, forced him to fight them back, And when he failed, they let him run off, as fast as his tired and aching paws could take him.
Which lead him to where he was now, struggling up a grassy hill in the territory that housed no clan, to find somewhere to lay. He wouldn't die- he didn't think, as long as his wounds did not grow an infection. But really- he couldn't find herbs on his own to treat them, and that was a shame. What was he to do? He kind of missed when Panda was around. He would have helped him.
But as the reddish cat reached the top of the hill, he noticed he was not the only one there. He was so screwed. So screwed- he didn't even know how he noticed that was another cat, all he could smell was the blood in his nose (they'd gotten a good scratch on the bridge of his muzzle) and all he could see were blurred shapes. He supposed the other was shaped like a cat.
Once again, he found himself unable to form words, letting himself slump to the ground, paws and legs too tired to take him anywhere else.
Really- he wanted to fall asleep right now. But frankly, he could not allow himself to do that with the possibility of a dangerous cat mere tail-lengths away from him. Allowing his lips to curl into a sheepish-looking expression, the golden-eyed feline peered up towards the stranger.
"Would'ya mind helpin' me?" he asked, voice quiet, sounding exhausted. By the blood that matted his fur- there was no surprise to that.
"I... I know herbs." he added after a moment of soft, cautious breaths, hoping that would encourage whoever this feline was to help him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i644.photobucket.com/albums/uu167/Rippedshadow/Templates/midbriar.png] Blinking into the darkened place around her a sickly smell began to waft toward her. Standing and keeping her ears perked and already the smell grew stronger. The scent was acrid, and she could almost taste the blood herself. Her thoughts rolled into one another, and Briarleaf's fur bristled in unease. The scent was unmistakably feline, and while there was a hint of ThunderClan, the smell was mostly foreign, pinning the cat as a loner or rogue. Brows crinkling it was then a cat trudged up along the hill, the golden-like fur hidden beneath debris and blood.
Briarleaf's instinct was to unsheathe her claws, ready to defend herself in case the tom was hostile. Instead, his body slumped to the ground. The she-cat felt ashamed at herself, but you could never be too careful out here. Especially since she had no idea who this cat was. But by the looks of it, he had definitely gotten the worse end of the stick. The warrior code said you didn't need to kill another cat unless it was in self defense. And this cat looked nearly there as far as she was concerned, and with no warrant either. There were to other cat scents about him meaning he was alone.
Making a mental not to find out the story about him later, she bounded over the last few tail lengths. When all else failed, making a small joke never seemed to hurt and often calmed the patient. However, Briarleaf wasn't known for her humour or tact nature. Still, she forced a small smile at him. "You know herbs, hmm? I doubt you know as much as I do. Just lie still and let me look you over first." she murmured, eyes worried. True, he wasn't clan cat, but she couldn't do nothing. Not when he looked so bad. Besides, if she saved him now, he might owe her a favor later. Briarleaf wasn't the most conniving of her ShadowClan kin, but she always looked for spaces of opportunity.
Briarleaf placed her paw over the stranger, feeling around his body lightly while trying to assess the situation. Finding nothing of importance she looked him over, shaking her head. "Nothing seems to be broken, so thats good. You have a lot of scratches though, especially your muzzle." she mused, licking off some of the dried blood. Stepping back she looked around. "We need to get you somewhere more sheltered. Can you walk?" Looking around she spotted a tree hollow nearby. With any luck she could find some cobwebs inside for the bleeding. If she could get him there safely, she could look around for something to stop any infection from setting in. "I'm Briarleaf by the way. ShadowClan medicine cat. You probably don't understand that, but it means my specialty is healing cats. C'mon, let's go before you attract a hungry fox or something." She bent herself low to shoulder the tom up, hoping he could at least muddle his way over.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1296.photobucket.com/albums/ag2/recklessisawreck/lavi02_zps6d82ffe9.png][scrolly:h(170),w(450),sy] As Lavi had been approaching Briarleaf- he had not noticed her potentially unsheathing her claws just in case (how could he with his vision so impaired? He could hardly see her so it wasn't as if he could see her body language). Though, quite frankly, he could have been walking himself to his death and hadn't even known it. And really, he wouldn't blame her if she had taken that chance, he was after all a stranger- an enemy in the simplest example of the word. He had an equal chance of death whether he tried to heal himself, or whether he received help from this strange cat, so he was okay with this- not that he had any choice in the matter.
Vaguely, with his muddled mind- fogged with pain- he wondered whether she was from a clan or not. She could be a loner or a rogue- even a house cat. With his nose filled with blood, he couldn't quite figure it out, even if he wanted to and he wasn't sure whether what kind of cat she was would even affect how she reacted in response to his sudden and battered appearance. He stopped trying to focus and see the stranger, letting his eyes slip closed.
"Ha... a'you tryin' to one-up me..?" he managed to question playfully, voice a mixture of both pain and a bit of laughter, despite how much he just wanted to drift off and fall asleep. He had sense to flinch when some of the dried blood was licked off of his muzzle- not quite expecting it. He didn't seem irritated with it though- more grateful than anything that she wasn't ignoring him, attacking him, or leaving him.
Lavi didn't respond to the she-cat's words about his injuries, saving any energy for words that would warrant a higher need to be answered. But at the mention of walking, he managed to let out a unhappy sigh, not really wanting to move, though knowing he probably would have to.
"Y-yeah, no problem," the tom cat managed to grunt out, allowing himself to be shouldered up. He was immensely grateful for the help, unsure if he would have been able to get up on his own otherwise. He was sure he'd be able to shuffle along at least, with her slight support, managing to support himself with some effort (that wasn't to say he wasn't leaning on the other at all). Despite already knowing what a medicine cat was, he didn't voice it, not feeling up for it- but he would probably bring it up later- knowing the observer.
"Well, aren't I l-lucky?" he meowed, sounding amused, eyes just now opening. He did not even bothering to look at the cat, now known as Briarleaf, the Shadowclan Medicine Cat. It wasn't as if he didn't think she deserved to be looked at- he just knew he wouldn't be able to focus on her, so he just did his best to watch where he would be walking.
"Lavi." He introduced himself carefully, and if he was more coherent, he'd probably tell her it was nice to meet her- and he'd probably flirt a little. But right now, that was the last thing on his mind.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i644.photobucket.com/albums/uu167/Rippedshadow/Templates/midbriar.png] Briarleaf made a small smile. This cat was definitely of the cheeky variety, she could already tell. It reminded her of one of the clan's ever flirtatious characters, and Briarleaf scowled. Now was not the time to be thinking about things like that. Making sure he laid down carefully she took a step back and inhaled deeply before nosing him over as gently as she could manage. Blood scent tickled her nose, as well as that of ThunderClan, and Briarleaf was once again overcome with a small bout of rage to the rival clan. They were as frog-brained as always, thinking they could do as they please.
Sighing she stepped back. "Well, I don't smell any signs of infection, so thats good. Still..." she looked around the hollow and spotted some cobwebs. At least that's covered. I need to go see if I can fetch some marigold or burdock root. she thought. Padding over to the cobwebs she scraped out a pawful and sat down next to Lavi. "I'm not usually this giving Lavi, so try not to move or I'll make this hurt on purpose." she mewed, giving him a stern look. Bending her head down she began to lick the blood off of Lavi's pelt, wrinkling her nose at the metallic taste. After many licks she discovered the scratches and placed the cobwebs on them, making sure they wouldn't begin bleeding again. Placing one of her paws on the side of his face, she looked his muzzle over, giving it a few tentative licks before placing a bit of cobweb there as well.
Pelt hot with embarrassment (I mean, she was used to doing this with clanmates, but with a complete stranger, well, that was a different matter entirely.), Briarleaf stepped back. "Ok. Rest here for a moment. I'm going to go see if I can find something to make sure no infections spread." she meowed, her green eyes flashing in the dimly lit space. Backing out of the hollow Briarleaf shook her pelt. The moor was mostly empty, other than the hollow they had found and some shrubbery here and there. With any luck she might find something worth using. Bolting down the hill, Briarleaf tasted the air of some different patches of grass nearby, surprised and grateful to smell the scent of marigold.
Walking over she found just a few tiny pieces, but they would do. Picking them carefully Briarleaf scent a silent thank you to StarClan before making her way back up the hill. Her ears pricked at the sound of a dog barking in the distance. Her pelt shivered. Just what we need. It had better stay clear. she though, a growl rumbling in her throat. When she poked her head back into the hollow she dropped the marigold leaves, panting lightly. "I don't understand how WindClan do it. Running a muck on the moors." she shuddered, catching her breath.
