Yes, she was known for being good friends with Harry and Ginny, especially, as well as Neville and a lot of the other Gryffindors who were in the same year as Eliza. But Eliza wasn't really sure what people thought of her or what they categorized her as being. When she was younger, she didn't have the ability to stand up to people like Malfoy or Pansy, who would take pleasure in insulting Eliza and the rest of her Gryffindor friends. But in the past couple of years, especially since the Triwizard Tournament, Eliza had started to branch out and was becoming a lot more brave as well. She had more friends in the other houses (though not really Slytherin, since most of them didn't enjoy talking to Gryffindors) and she was able to stand up for herself against Malfoy. They had a little dispute by the lake the previous spring and Eliza was quite happy with how she handled herself. She was becoming more confident and wasn't a little scared first year anymore. She wasn't scared of Lir, either, but she also knew that she really didn't know him at all. He wasn't like Malfoy, but she still knew that he probably wasn't good news. With the news of his sister and really his whole family reputation for the Dark Arts, it wasn't hard for Eliza to jump to conclusions that Lir was the same way as the rest of his family. Eliza tried to keep an open mind, though. That was what she learned a lot of when she integrated into the wizarding world. A lot of things were different from what she was used to in the muggle world. Making assumptions was dangerous and Eliza quickly learned that it was hard to really know what something was like (whether it be a person, an object or even a magical creature) from first glance. tag: --- words: --- template by eliza @ shadowplay & shine |
