O STAY YOUR SOUL AND LEAVE MY HEART ITS SONG
Lightpelt breathed heavily and looked around the camp frantically for somewhere to lay down. The day hadn't seemed so hot while she was at the river, but perhaps it had been an unwise decision to run all the way back to camp. The was no particular reason for the running, but Lightpelt felt it was good practice. She wouldn't want to find herself in a situation that required speed only to discover that it had gone from her. Besides, Lightpelt loved any chance to prove her skills. Well, when she had skills, anyway. Perhaps the lack of practice had caused Lightpelt to loose her stamina already. Thoughts raced through her head more quickly than she could comprehend them. Her heart beat so quickly and loudly that she could have sworn it had moved up her neck and below her ears. Her lungs tried to keep up.
Finally, in what was in actuality only a moment but felt like a moon, Lightpelt spotted a patch of moss. Quick as she could manage (which wasn't much), she hurried over to it and flopped down, trying to regain composure. Her head felt all cloudy and refused to calm down, even when her body was resting. Lightpelt realized that at least part of the problem was that she was extremely hot. She looked around for anything that might be able to cool her off. [/blockquote]

Ashstone, a light gray tom with light green eyes, knew for a very good fact, that it was extremely hot and most of the cats in camp had went into their dens to escape the blistering heat, Ashstone? He was under a small tree that didn't jab that much of a wide space to escape the sunlight that was striking hisgray pelt. The warrior stood up and he found himself unbearably thirsty. He decided he would go out into RiverClan territory an go to their main part of their territory, the river. Before he left to go, he noticed a warrior was running around camp, probably lookig for some kind shade. The light gray warrior decided to be helpful and tell the she-cat that she could share the small tree with him. "Miss, you can come over here." He flicked his tail tip and smiled when the she-cat plopped into some moss. The she-cat was a very light, pale you could say, and very pretty eyes. Ashstone began to get lost into deep thought about his apprentice days and he wondered where his best friend and former mentor, Icefur was at. "It's such a hot day today, I may go for a swim later." He told himself outloud.
(I'm sorry it's so short!)

O STAY YOUR SOUL AND LEAVE MY HEART ITS SONG
As Lightpelt's mind managed to slow itself to a relatively normal pace (which was still rather quick for her), she realized that she wasn't alone. A gray tom was watching her rather intently. Lightpelt had been so lost in thought that she hadn't even realized he was there before then. Perhaps this warm weather had been getting to her even more than she had thought. How embarrassing. Lightpelt was far too many moons old to be behaving like an apprentice. Fortunately, she wasn't one to dwell on her mistakes and mentally shrugged it off.
With a few more heavy breaths, Lightpelt could feel herself returning to earth, at least enough to be aware of anything besides her immediate wants and needs. She examined the cat more closely. Of course, she knew him, Lightpelt knew everyone in RiverClan to some extent, but this particular tom was one she had never gotten the opportunity really learn much about him. The tom had always seemed a bit mysterious to Lightpelt, and was a decent amount older than her. Still, she did know his name was Ashstone and that he was known as one of the wiser cats among those in RiverClan. Perhaps now was her chance to befriend him.
"Ashstone!" she said, still breathing heavily. "Fancy seeing you here. I haven't seen much of anyone since this morning. What are you doing out?" It occurred to her a second too late that it probably seemed a silly question coming from someone who obviously shouldn't be out but was, but, well, it was a way to break the ice.
(No worries!) [/blockquote]

Maybe outside of camp, or the warriors den taking a nap? He couldn't remember but luckily he knew who she was. Greetings Lightpelt, it's nice seeing you around. How have you been, lass? He flashed a flirty smile and winked at the pale she-cat. Yes, this light gray tom cat was a huge flirt with the she-cats, maybe that's how he got his mate, Morningsnow and he also got stuck with her kits too but he didn't quite mind at all. He loved kits and wanted some of his own one day. He shook his head of his possible future thoughts and looked at Lightpelt, wondering what she would do when he had winked at her. How's your life been, sweetie?
Ashstone was strongly known to flirt with pretty much every she-cat in RiverClan and many of them wanted to be his mate. Sadly, he could only have one mate, and he was going to stay true and loyal to Morningsnow but there was nothing wrong with having a few she-cat's have crushes on him. He did look handsome though, light gray fur with light green eyes. That was the perfect combination.

O STAY YOUR SOUL AND LEAVE MY HEART ITS SONG
After what felt to Lightpelt to be a far, far longer time than the few seconds that actually passed, she could sense that her body had returned to its normal state. The entire forest no longer had to hear her gasps for air. Alright, that was an exaggeration, but only a slight one. It was hot. Lightpelt could feel her paws becoming drenched with sweat. How uncomfortable. She tried to subtly wipe them off on the moss while she listened to Ashstone speak.
Lightpelt couldn't remember the last time she had spoken to Ashstone one-on-one, or even if she ever had. Twenty moons may not seem like such a difference to thirty-eight, but twelve certainly did to thirty, and, at least it seemed to Lightpelt, eight moons was not such a long time. This wasn't to say that she was intimidated by Ashstone in any way, Lightpelt was nothing if not bold, but that she wouldn't have expected him to have much interest in her. After all, when he had been her age, her eyes hadn't yet turned green. Yet, Lightpelt detected a distinct flirtatious tone in Ashstone's voice and, in case he hadn't been clear enough, he winked at her. Well, this certainly wasn't what she would have expected from a seemingly standoffish tom that she thought she recalled had a thing with one of the other she-cats. Perhaps Lightpelt had been mistaken.
Lightpelt realized that she was sprawled in a rather unbecoming position, even for a cat she wasn't interested in impressing. She rolled over casually, now that she had regained enough composure to do so, and kept her eyes on Ashstone. He really was a handsome tom. Light green eyes, much like her own, but that was where the similiaities began and ended. As his name might imply, Ashstone's fur was an ashy gray color that shone particularly attractively in the summer sun. How had Lightpelt never noticed?
"Absolutely horrible before you showed up," she replied with a smirk. Lightpelt wasn't one for subtlety in any situation, and, evidently, neither was Ashstone. [/blockquote]
