He likes to play little tricks and games, often just to ruffle someone's fur. His games are never in malice of course but he does like to yank the tail of the clan's newest apprentices and isn't above giving Lynxstar a good poke in the belly from time to time. Goosenose keeps WindClan in laughter, bringing a little jolliness with him wherever he goes. Sore in the joints and moving a bit slower than he once did, Goosenose should be crabby but he manages to keep a smile on his maw. His heart is as big as the sky, full of adoration for his many kits and sheer joy at his grandkits. Many of his kits view Goosenose as a confidant, a friend and playmate. Many a queen will bring their kits to Goosenose when they're in need of a day off and many kits love to perch on Goosenose's belly and listen to his stories of battles long gone and pranks that still make Lynxstar cringe at the idea of anyone recreating. A peacemaker and cat of good sense, Goosenose is often sought out for advice and provides a positive role model for WindClan warriors, apprentices and kits as he has lived a simple life but has lived a good life. [/classy] [classy=infotop]history[/classy][classy=infobottom]Goosekit was born the third son of Silverpool and Loonflight, two of WindClan's finest back in the day. He had two older brothers from a separate litter named Greypaw and Falconpaw by the time he was born. In his own litter, Goosekit had a sister named Lavenderkit and a brother named Troutkit. Overall, his kithood was fairly normal as he had a very affectionate family. They were loud and full of laughter, very tactile and kind-hearted folk, well loved by their clanmates. They all seemed to be cats of good humor and seemed to brighten the dreariest of days. Goosekit in particular seemed to have the ability to laugh and be merry regardless of how dark things seemed, an ability that followed him throughout his life. When he reached apprentice age, he was dubbed Goosepaw and handed over to a rather temperamental she-cat named Rosethorn. It took a lot of work but Goosepaw eventually became good friends with his rather prickly mentor, something the entire clan was thunderstruck by as Rosethorn had quite the reputation for having a nasty temper at all times. It was during his apprenticeship that Goosepaw met his first love at a Gathering. Her name was Tawnypaw, a ThunderClan apprentice that had enough personality for ten cats. She knocked Goosepaw right off his feet and captured his attention. Rosethorn was less than pleased when she began noticing her apprentice sneaking off and warned him against cross-clan affections. Fortunately for Rosethorn, the love was short lived, as was Tawnypaw. Near the end of her apprenticeship, Tawnypaw got caught in a battle with RiverClan over the border line and fell off of the edge of the gorge in the scuffle. Goosepaw was devastated by her death, though he had to hide it, and even though Rosethorn said it was for the best. Shortly after Tawnypaw's death, Goosepaw earned his warrior name of Goosenose after he successfully tracked several lost kits through the moor in a thunderstorm when they got lost after escaping the nursery. The leader at the time, viewing Goosepaw as a capable tracker, dubbed him Goosenose. He's certain that Rosethorn is still laughing to this day over his name. "A silly name for a silly cat!" were her first words to her apprentice after his name was given. During that following winter, Goosenose earned his first apprentice at fifteen moons of age during a warrior shortage. The young tom's name was Weaselpaw, a troublemaker if ever there was one. Goosenose was no better than his apprentice and together the two made WindClan quite interesting. Goosenose would catch Weaselpaw in the midst of a prank and turn it into a training session, passing on his own pranking tips to the young tom. By the time he was given his warrior name, Weaselpaw had established himself as one of WindClan's cleverest apprentices and as Weaselclaw, would go on to become one of WindClan's cleverest warriors. Around Weaselclaw's warrior ceremony was when Goosenose became friends with a young she-cat named Silvershade. She wasn't like Tawnypaw, all intensity and fire but she captured Goosenose just the same. Gentle and soft in a way he had never known, he was captivated by the elegant young huntress. She was elegant, graceful, soft-spoken and wise beyond her moons. Goosenose fell hard and to this day, she is his one and only mate. Silvershade went into the nursery when Goosenose was twenty-eight moons old to birth their first litter. Their litter consisted of a tom kit named Lakekit and a little she-kit named Featherkit. Around this time, Goosenose took on his second apprentice, a shy little she-cat named Icepaw. With time, patience and lots of teaching Icepaw how to laugh and enjoy her life, Goosenose eventually fashioned her into Iceflower, whom would go on to be a fine huntress and queen for WindClan. For a while after their first kits became apprentices, Goosenose and Silvershade simply took a few moons to enjoy one another's company and enjoy being together before Silvershade once again took to the nursery at the age of forty-two moons, when Goosenose was forty-four moons. This time, the litter was bigger, consisting of two tom kits and two she-kits. The kits were named Heavykit, Galekit, Swankit and Mistykit. In the same ceremony as his second litter becoming apprentices, Goosenose was given his own apprentice from another litter, a tom again this time named Berrypaw. Berrypaw would go on to become Berryspots and Goosenose would take only one more apprentice, a she-cat named Tigerpaw who would become Tigerleap. Silvershade would go on to carry one last litter at the age of sixty-two moons with only two kits again, both toms this time named Duskkit and Loonkit before retiring to the elder's den at the age of seventy moons. Goosenose followed his mate to the elders den at seventy-five moons, citing arthritis for the reason of his retirement. Truly his reason was that he wished to be with Silvershade, whom suffered a stroke.[/classy] |
