[atrb=style, width:450px; padding:2px;][cs=2][classy=infotop]roleplay sample[/classy][classy=rpsample]bright blue eyes peek over the grass, ears twitching in the wind. the young tom-cat wriggles his haunches, keeps his tail low but not low enough to sweep the ground. he holds his breath as he takes in the inventory of his target, a plump mouse nibbling on a seed, unbeknownst of the danger that awaits him. in a flash, the tom lets off of the slightly springy ground and launches himself toward the prey. startled by the change in the atmosphere, the mouse holds its seed tight and his ears go flat, head perking up. he all but drops his seed and runs when he sees the cat hurtling toward him, but he was lethargic in his efforts. the tom has made his catch with a square pounce on the shoulders and a nip to the neck. the tom, namely wrenpaw, purrs with excitement. it had been a fine day for hunting near the sky oak, despite the terror that had reined through earlier in the year. wrenpaw remembers the day that lightning had struck the great tree as if it was yesterday. no, he hadn't been there to see the tree go down, but he had been there to watch the flames start and slowly but surely ruin his home. he remembers rushing from camp, eyes wide with the realization that the only home he'd ever known was being destroyed. he shakes the bad memory from his head, alongside the inquiry of 'is starclan mad at us, with all that's happened lately?', and focuses on the bright side. he'd made, so far, a few good catches today despite letting some of them slip out of his grasp, and that was what needed to be focused on. wrenpaw decides, after debating on whether or not to bury the mouse, that he will take his previous catches back to the clan and come out later for more hunting. he gives a crooked smile as he pads back to his buried catches and unearths them, revealing a thrush, vole, and a squirrel. my swift paws have definitely paid off in this hunting trip, he thinks with an air of pride, but lets himself enjoy this brief moment as he carries his prey to thunderclan's camp, careful not to drop or drag anything. his confidence is reward enough for his self-sufficiency, he knows as drops off his catches at the fresh-kill pile. out of the corner of his eye, he sees his best friend, and decides a little friendly competition is in order. "hey, falconpaw!" he mews as he pads up to his friend and fellow apprentice briskly. "are you up for a game?"[/classy] |
