Hmm. That is an excellent question indeed. She's ShadowClan through and through, and as such she's got a bit of a temper. Okay. She has a very big temper. As a medicine cat she should have more patience, but alas, no one is perfect. When treating cats she has no problem, so long as it isn't for some frog-brained scheme. She almost tore an apprentice to shreds when she discovered he was hurt by playing a prank. In other words, don't get little Briarleaf fired up. Of course, her temper also clashed with her mentor, Bitternfrost. He was a cranky old goat to Briarleaf, but she loved the old man to death. She liked to think of him as her father in a way. Love wouldn't be the right word, although love for a parent is fine. No, Briarleaf merely adored him. Not that she ever let him know that! Despite her misgivings, Briarleaf is very attentive and can memorize herbs with grace. Quite the good quality for a young medicine cat. Striving for perfection can make Briarleaf a dull girl, and don't get her started on what she might have to say about you. She's very opinionated and has no problem speaking her mind whether you like it or not. But one of the best things about her would be reliable nature. She might occasionally grumble when old Bitternfrost sent her out for the little chores he didn't want to take care of, but she always got the job done, and still does. Briarleaf is just like every clan cat you could meet, complex with things hidden underneath, and just trying to serve her clan the best she can.[/classy] [classy=infotop]history[/classy][classy=infobottom]Briarkit never met her mother or her sister. Her mother had difficulties in child birth, and Briarkit was lucky to survive. And guess who managed to save her, and keep her alive? If you guessed her mentor Bitternfrost, congrats for being so smart. Briarkit was always a sickly kit because she was premature. As such she spent a lot of time in the medicine cat den and so she became ever curious about everything in there. Of course, Bitternfrost always got annoyed with her, but what else could she do being cooped up in there all the time? As for Briarkit's father...well...he always blamed Briarkit for killing his mate. That left Briarkit on her own for the most part. After all, you can't make friends being sick all the time. But she always managed to find something to keep herself occupied. Besides, she was already beginning to grow fond of old Bitternfrost, who she was beginning to look to as a father figure. At six moons Briarkit became Briarpaw. She figured leaving her kit-like dreams of being a medicine cat were silly, so she opted for being a warrior. However Briarpaw was always ignoring her mentor, and when out hunting she had a tendency to bring back herbs instead of prey. Finally she realized her dream had to be fulfilled, and she requested being transferred as a medicine cat apprentice. On her first trip to Highstones she was able to meet her mother and her sister. Overwhelmed with joy, Briarpaw discovered that the path of the medicine cat was who she was meant to be. Of course, she wanted to share the news with her father, to let him know StarClan had a plan for his former mate. But when she tried he wouldn't hear of it. He called everyone in the clans foolish for believing in nursery tales, and left never to be seen again. After that, Briarpaw became a little colder, and a lot more temperamental. She was (and is) still fully committed to being a medicine cat, but her heart is still mending from all the broken pieces. Even more so now that Bitternfrost passed on.[/classy] |
